A good print starts with a check
Print one. Check it.
Then print the rest.
LabelBolt makes a PDF with one label per page. Your PDF viewer, printer driver, and label stock determine the printed result.
1. Check the downloaded PDF
Open it in your PDF viewer. Check the code, description, page size, and number of pages. Each copy is a separate page, in the same order as your reviewed list. The website’s layout example is static; it does not show your entered data.
2. Match the paper and print at 100%
- Select the printer and the matching label stock: 3 × 2 in (76.2 × 50.8 mm) or 4 × 6 in (101.6 × 152.4 mm).
- Choose Actual size or 100% scale. Turn off “Fit to page” or “Shrink oversized pages.” Check orientation in the print dialog.
- Print just page 1 first. These PDFs are not A4 or Letter sheets with multiple adhesive labels. LabelBolt does not send commands directly to your printer.
3. Measure, read, and scan
- Measure the sample and check all edges. If anything is cut off, check the stock size, orientation, and your driver’s printable area.
- Read the text and check that the barcode has clear white space at both ends. Smudging, light gaps, or stretched bars can prevent scanning.
- Scan the physical label into a text field and compare the result with the code you entered, including leading zeros and punctuation. These templates use Code 128 for your existing internal codes; they do not create carrier tracking labels or assign retail product identifiers.
- If the print or scan fails, adjust the printer’s media settings, darkness, or speed as appropriate for its manual, then test again. Do not assume a PDF download confirms a successful print.
Start with a sample PDF
These one-page PDFs come from the same templates used by the generator. Test the sample for your task before entering a longer list.
About your setup
Printer models, drivers, PDF viewers, and label stock vary. We have not verified every combination of Windows, macOS, or thermal printers. A successful on-screen check cannot replace testing a physical label on the setup you use for work.
